OUR COLLEGE

St.Joseph’s College is an autonomous First Grade College , affiliated to the Bharathidasan University. It was established in 1844 by Fathers of Society of Jesus( The Jesuits). It was originally affiliated to the then Madras University in 1869. The College celebrated its centenary in 1944, sesquicentenary in 1995 and acquired the Five Star status awarded by NAAC in 2000. It became autonomous in 1978 and was recognized by the University Grants Commission as a College with Potential for Excellence in 2004. It was nationally reaccredited by NAAC with A+ Grade in 2006.

The Institute

St.Joseph’s Institute of Management , a Jesuit Institute under the aegis of St.Joseph’s College Society , Trichy , is situated on the sprawling campus of St.Joseph’s College . In response to the acute need for world class management professional, and to contribute to the process of National development , St.Joseph’s Institute of Management , through its Department of Management Studies , Conducts a full time programme in Business Administration viz., M.B.A – Master of Business Administration, approved by All India Council for Technical Education , New Delhi and affiliated to Bharathidasan University , Trichy

Realizing the ever increasing need to for managerial expertise in different vistas of management , St. Joseph’s Institute of Management commits itself to produce world class Managers with social concern and commitment.

Objectives

•  To contribute to the inclusive Socio- Economic development of the people in the globalised environment.
•  To facilitate development of proactive management professionals and change agents to respond adequately to the socio – economic and organizational challenges , arising from the dynamics Corporate Culture.
•  To promote and assist the students in creative entrepreneurship by instilling confidence and providing the requisite inputs for their initiatives.
•  To function as a research cum resource centre for service organizations engaged in economic upliftment of the poor and the marginalized.
•  To engage in relevant research in various functional areas of management and also to assist managers/management in industry and business, through consultancy and Management Development Programmes.
